Luxurious L'Hermitage

L'Hermitage building situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver on Richards St. is comprised of a boutique hotel, L'Hermitage Hotel, as well as a residential component, L'Hermitage En Ville and completed construction in 2008. 

The hotel consists of 60 suites over two floors and is the No. 1 hotel in Canada according to Trip Advisor.

L'Hermitage En Ville is a 31 storey high rise comprised of 184 residential suites with one or two bedrooms. 

The building has a great lobby entrance, which is shared between the hotel and the residences, as well as 24 hour concierge. Although the two building sections share most amenities, their elevators are separate and the traffic of the hotel will does not affect the residences. 

The residences include high end finishes such as hardwood floors, Sub-Zero and Bosch stainless steel appliances and airconditioning.

There is no shortage of amenities in this boutique hotel and thankfully the residents can use the amenities. 

These include a large well equipped gym, a lounge area, a rooftop terrace, business centre as well as a library. The use of all of these amenities are included in the maintenance fees of the residents. 

For an extra non-transferrable fee of $75 a month per person or about $140 for a family of 4, the residents can use the magnificent outdoor lap pool and the hot tub as well.

MECCANICA (by Cressey) Unveiled

On February 29, 2012, the much anticipated MECCANICA at FIRST + QUEBEC was unveiled to a select group and of course it was no surprise to see the same level of quality of work and attention to detail in this development as the other developments we have seen from Cressey throughout the years.

The two model homes in the development's showroom at First and Quebec showcased the bold and uber-hip finishes complementing the ultra modern floor plans and the up and coming bustling neighborhood of South East False Creek.

The 170 units range from studios to two bedrooms + work and come standard with air-conditioning, highly polished quartz countertops and backsplashes, super glossy Porsche color inspired European style cabinets and sleek polished concrete floors, not to mention the 9'4" ceilings in every unit. Upgrades are also available. 

The neighborhood, in my view, will become the new epi-centre of Vancouver with proximity to downtown, sky train, lots of stylish shops and restaurants and a young and modern feel due in part to all the new developments going up around there.

On Saturday March 3, sneak previews of this development will start and the sale process will begin. The project is anticipated to complete in the Summer of 2014.

MECCANICA (by CRESSEY)

After coming out with Maddox at the corner of Howe and Drake in downtown Vancouver, Cressey has recently announced "Meccanica" at FIRST & QUEBEC.

The building is named after Intermeccanica who created the Porsche roadster in the 1980's which is the design inspiration behind the condos in the building. 

The building comprises 170 "bold, automotive inspired homes" which have an industrical feel to them.

The architect team behind this building, Rafii Architects, who also designed Donovan and James, have included features which is rarely seen in the Vancouver real estate market. Things like a galvanized metal and glass exterior and high gloss kitchen cabinets in Porsche inspired colors as well as airconditioning.

The PATINA: 1028 Barclay Street, Vancouver

The Patina building (1028 Barclay) built by CONCERT PROPERTIES completed in early 2011. The central location of this building in the heart of downtown Vancouver, just off of the Burrard Street and the great, high-end finishes make it a very attractive building to own in both as an investor and as a primary residence.

The building is comprised of 256 suites in 42 floors and is close to the hospital, shopping and entertainment district and the beach.
